The Accommodation And Services We Provide

Hitchin House and Fairfield Lodge are charming 4-bedroom semi-detached houses, designed without major adaptations beyond what's standard in a typical family home. These residences typically accommodate up to three male and/or female children aged 16 and above. Each young person enjoys the privacy of their own spacious bedroom, equipped with secure internet access and ample storage for personal belongings. We provide essential amenities including bedding, towels, personal hygiene products, and kitchen equipment as needed, ensuring each resident feels comfortable and supported in their new home.

Young individuals placed in our care will be provided with a written agreement delineating their rights and the terms of their supported accommodation, including procedures for lodging complaints.

In addition to the bedrooms allocated for young residents, there is a dedicated sleeping area for staff. The property boasts an open-plan living and dining space, offering ample seating and room for recreational activities, as well as any classes or tuition the residents may engage in.

Outside, the gardens feature a patio area leading onto a lawn, providing space for sports or other physical activities.

Maintained to a high standard, our homes offer access to TV and gaming facilities in the lounge, ensuring residents can relax and unwind comfortably.

Positive Outcomes

Before or shortly after placement, an initial assessment will be conducted to evaluate the individual needs of the young person. This comprehensive assessment will encompass areas such as independence skills, health, education, social and emotional well-being, enjoyment and achievement, as well as their wishes, feelings, and spiritual and cultural needs.

The findings from this assessment, in conjunction with the initial referral, will guide our practice and determine the level of support required. This information will form the basis of the child or young person's support plan, which will undergo continuous review and be regularly updated to track progress. In instances where there is little or no progress, or if the child begins to regress, a meeting will be convened with the child or young person to identify any barriers hindering progress. The support plan will then be adjusted accordingly to address any shortcomings, and additional interventions will be implemented as needed.

When necessary, external support will be sought through referrals to relevant agencies, including but not limited to CAMHS, educational support services, and drug and alcohol agencies.

The team surrounding the child will serve as a support network, assisting the child or young person in overcoming obstacles and facilitating their progression. Independence plans and pathway plans will further enhance support and contribute to the individual's progress.
